BEHIND THE MUSIC:

The story of Chris Fisher

Christopher Fisher is a Chicago-area musician, composer, and entertainer known for delivering a full-band experience as a one-man show.

Blending blues, jazz, rock, R&B, and gospel, Chris creates live performances that are soulful, engaging, and tailored to the room, whether it’s an intimate lounge, a packed venue, or a special event.

Where It Began

Classically trained in piano, Chris discovered his true passion for the guitar at age 12 while studying at Allegro Music Academy. That early love evolved into a lifelong dedication to musicianship, leading him to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition as a four-year Presidential Scholar at Columbia College Chicago. There, he refined his skills as a performer, composer, and musical director while building a sound rooted in both technical excellence and feel.

From Chicago to the World

Chris’s career has taken him from major Chicago stages, including the Taste of Chicago and the Chicago Blues and Jazz Festivals—to national and international collaborations. After graduating, he began performing regularly with legendary jazz pianist Ghalib Ghallab, first in the Chicagoland area and later as the lead guitarist for Ghalib’s Vegas Knight Trio in Las Vegas. The group held regular performances at Fuso Jazz Club and toured jazz clubs across the country until Ghalib’s passing in 2018.

The Sound Today

Today, Chris continues to perform throughout the Chicagoland area, especially in the southwest suburbs, where he is a familiar and respected presence. He regularly hosts and performs at Shanahan’s Food & Spirits in Woodridge, Illinois—leading Thursday Professional Jams and headlining Friday and Saturday nights with his signature one-man show. Locals fondly know him as Chris “Prince” Fisher, a nod to both his musical versatility and commanding stage presence.

While Chris is widely recognized for his solo performances, he thrives on collaboration and the energy of playing with other musicians. He is also deeply committed to giving back, having provided live dinner music and entertainment for the Rhea of Hope Foundation’s annual fundraising gala for over a decade.

At the heart of it all, Chris plays for connection—for the moment when music brings people together. If you’re looking for live guitar and keys that elevate the atmosphere and leave a lasting impression, Christopher Fisher is now accepting bookings for venues, events, and special occasions.
